Position Overview
The Web Services Manager will lead the technical execution and operational
performance of our client’s client-facing website services, managing the tech stack, backend standards, development of best practices, site security, performance, redundancy, and data integrity across all projects and support programs. Reporting to the CEO and partnering with the Creative and Client Services teams, this role manages offshore and freelance developers, improves workflow efficiency, and ensures consistent delivery of secure, high-performing digital experiences for clients.

This position requires a systems and analytical mindset, with strong front-end and back-end experience and a solid understanding of modern web standards, including SEO, accessibility, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and performance optimization. The Web Services Manager will focus on maintaining quality, strengthening processes, and supporting the continued growth of our web capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy:
o Serve as the internal point of contact for Website Services
o Lead the technical execution of website development
o Uphold and improve architecture standards
o Manage the execution of our web services roadmap
o Manage and optimize relationships with offshore developers, contractors,
and freelancers
o Apply AI tools to maximize client site quality and development efficiency

Web & Digital Services Delivery:
o Create technical briefs
o Brainstorm and help architect web systems and solutions
o Ensure website performance, security, and reliability across digital assets
o Oversee monitoring, backups, and proactive web maintenance practices
o Ensure best practices in cybersecurity
o Support and maintain website architecture, hosting, content management
systems, and site integrations
o Implement and maintain backend development standards and code quality guidelines
o Maintain technical documentation and development standards

Project & Client Management:
o Collaborate with creatives, developers, and Client Services team to
optimize digital solutions
o Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrations
o Provide Client Services team with estimates and quotes for web-based
projects
o Occasionally represent our client in prospect and client meetings

Innovation & Industry Leadership:
o Stay current with industry trends and emerging web technologies
o Explore practical applications of emerging technologies, including AI, to
improve efficiency
o Foster a client-service mindset, ensuring digital services align with
business needs

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in web development or technical web management, preferably in an agency or multi-client environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with modern CMS platforms, such as Drupal, Statamic, or comparable content management systems, including backend configuration, content modeling, and deployment workflows related to server environments
  • Working knowledge of database structure, CMS architecture, module/plugin governance, and version control systems 
  • Experience supporting and maintaining web hosting environments, including backups, monitoring, and performance optimization
  • Practical understanding of website security best practices, including updates, access control, vulnerability mitigation, and routine maintenance
  • Solid knowledge of technical SEO fundamentals, Core Web Vitals, structured data basics, and performance optimization
  • Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG) and modern front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) 
  • Experience managing or coordinating offshore developers, contractors, or freelance resources
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple web projects and support initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, creative, and client-facing teams 
  • Interest in emerging web technologies and AI-driven tools a plus
