    The Opportunity

    FuntoNetwork is seeking a Web Application Firewall Solution Architect for an active RFP opportunity: Cloud-Based Web Application Firewall (WAF) Solution and Implementation Services.

    The University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a cloud-based Web Application Firewall (WAF) solution and related implementation services. The selected solution will replace the existing on-premises F5 environment and support web application security, load balancing, traffic management, proof of concept, implementation, migration planning, testing, training, and transition to production operations.

    Core Responsibilities

    • Design the WAF solution, implementation approach, rules, integrations, and operational model.
    • Review the RFP scope, source posting, supporting documents, deadline, and client requirements.
    • Coordinate with FuntoNetwork and related consultants to support a complete, professional response.
    • Prepare documentation, analysis, recommendations, deliverables, or technical inputs related to this role.
    • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders as needed.
    • Support quality control, status updates, and final submission readiness.
    • Discover the network estate: Document sites, circuits, carriers, addressing, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and critical dependencies for University of North Carolina Wilmington.
    • Create current-state topology: Produce logical and physical diagrams showing trust zones, traffic paths, redundancy, and management access.
    • Assess performance and resilience: Analyze utilization, latency, coverage, capacity, failover, single points of failure, and monitoring gaps.
    • Design network changes: Specify segmentation, firewall rules, wireless configuration, VPN access, routing, redundancy, and observability for Cloud-Based Web Application Firewall (WAF) Solution and Implementation Services .
    • Implement controlled changes: Prepare approvals, maintenance windows, configurations, backups, validation steps, communications, and rollback plans.
    • Validate and hand over operations: Test connectivity, security, performance, failover, monitoring, diagrams, inventories, and operating procedures.

    What You Bring

    • Relevant experience for this RFP-based role.
    • Strong written communication, documentation, and stakeholder coordination skills.
    • Ability to work against proposal deadlines and client requirements.
    • Experience supporting public-sector, enterprise, or consulting projects is preferred.
    • Attention to detail and ability to follow structured submission requirements.

    Earnings, Payments, and Tax Records

    Consultants will be able to track project earnings, payment status, and tax records inside the FuntoNetwork mobile app.

    Approved payments for this RFP opportunity will be processed through the app, and consultants will be able to request withdrawals from their available balance directly inside the app.

    The app will also provide access to relevant payment history and tax-related records for consultant tracking and reporting.
