POSITION TITLE: Wausau Continuum of Supports Coordinator (WCoS)

JOB OBJECTIVE:

The Wausau Continuum of Supports Coordinator serves as an instructional leader and collaborates with schools, instructional teams, departments and district leadership to improve instructional and behavioral outcomes for students within our district.

EDUCATION:

Required: Masters level education or higher with five (5) or more years experience in K-12 education.

Desired: Advanced training in EMLSS or equivalent experience.

LICENSING:

Required: Valid teacher certificate as established by Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction

Desired: Possesses a license in one of the following: Principal (51), School Psychologist (61), School Counselor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Data & Systems Management:

  • Support teams in understanding the data and its implications at the district, building, classroom, and/or student level as well as identifying and selecting data sources to utilize in addressing specific situations.

  • Support district, building, and classroom level staff in the use of curriculum-based measurement to make informed high and low stakes decisions regarding student instructional and programmatic decisions.

  • Support staff in employing a multi-tiered intervention and problem-solving model at the district level supporting Social Emotional Learning (SEL) including facilitating leveled SEL Coaching Monthly Meetings

  • Provide consultation to staff in monitoring and providing feedback concerning the integrity and fidelity in which evidenced-based interventions are implemented at the district level

  • Serve as District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) and manage district level platforms for demographic, curricular, behavioral, assessment, and health data integrity.

  • Collaborate with school teams in analyzing data of State School Report Cards and creating, implementing, sustaining, and monitoring associated improvement goals and action plans.

  • Responsible for platform administration in a variety of technology systems related to academic and behavioral student supports.

  • Other duties as assigned

Multi-Lingual Support

  • Analyzes data to determine growth for individual students as well as overall attainment of Annual Measurable Achievement Objectives (AMAOs).

  • Use data from other assessment tools (district and state assessments) to identify student with ELL needs who are not meeting proficiency criteria in academic areas.

  • Interprets assessment data to determine appropriate interventions for academic and language acquisition needs.

  • Use data from school and larger community sources to identify barriers for global student populations and develops specific plans to address those barriers.

  • Assists schools in analyzing data to determine if patterns to special education referrals and placements are present as they apply to students with English language learning needs.

  • Works with administrative leadership in developing and supporting expanded educational options and services, within a multi-tiered intervention system, for students with English language learning needs.

  • Collaborates with pupil services team to develop supports for social, emotional, health and safety needs of students.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with district and state assessments and systems such as EduClimber

  • Experience working with multi-level systems of support

  • Ability to effectively present information to stakeholders to engage and inform

  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment
