This role offers growth potential and the chance to build and manage the water/wastewater engineering practice in the region.Position SummaryResponsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the department at the local level.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesCoordinate strategic growth plans with the Office Leader, Service Line Leader, and Market Leaders.Establish and grow market presence in the area through marketing and business development.Manage the financial budget for the department and allocate resources accordingly.Lead and contribute to the production of proposals.Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff.Determine staffing needs and establish resources for the section.Interview and hire staff for the section.Perform performance reviews for staff based on project manager input.Lead and manage team members by setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meetings, and coaching to support growth and development.Nonessential Functions and ResponsibilitiesPerform other related duties as assigned.Required ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program.Professional Engineer License in New York.15+ years' experience in specialized discipline.Project management and business development experience.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with municipal clients at city, county, and state levels.Involvement in local professional industry associations.Supervisory experience.Working ConditionsThe work is performed within a general office environment. It is generally sedentary but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc.Compensation and BenefitsCompensation ranges from $156,000 to $198,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and certifications.
