Water Supply Engineer

Job DescriptionInsight Global is seeking a Mid‑Level Water Supply Engineer to join one of our largest engineering consulting clients in Austin, Texas. This individual will support the company's rapidly growing commercial water business and serve as both a technical leader and client‑facing project manager. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within the water supply industry, strong knowledge of Texas water planning initiatives, and a proven ability to manage engineering projects from proposal through execution. This role will have significant responsibility for client engagement, project delivery, quality assurance, and coordination across multidisciplinary engineering teams.Day to DayInterface directly with clients to identify project needs and develop engineering solutionsPrepare scopes of work, project budgets, and schedules for water supply projectsLead client meetings and provide updates on project progress and deliverablesManage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teamsReview engineering deliverables and perform quality control reviewsMonitor project budgets, schedules, and overall project performanceOversee preparation of permit applications and regulatory documentationCoordinate with regulatory agencies regarding water supply requirements and approvalsInterface with vendors, contractors, equipment suppliers, and subcontractorsReview bid packages and provide recommendations for contract awardsSupport proposal development and preparation of engineering work ordersVisit project sites and client offices as needed throughout the project lifecycleEnsure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and according to client expectationsSkills and RequirementsBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental EngineeringActive Professional Engineering (PE) License10+ years of experience planning, designing, and managing water supply projectsExperience managing engineering projects including budget, schedule, scope, and client communicationKnowledge of environmental regulations, water laws, and compliance requirementsExperience with Texas Regional Water Planning or similar state‑level water planning initiativesExperience interacting directly with clients to develop scopes of work, budgets, and project execution plansStrong communication skills with experience conducting presentations, leading meetings, and preparing technical reportsAbility to travel to project sites and client offices as needed (less than 30%)Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering and design teamsPrevious consulting engineering experienceExisting relationships with municipal, utility, or regional water clients throughout TexasExperience leading proposal development and business development initiativesExperience overseeing permitting efforts for water supply projectsExperience managing multiple projects simultaneouslyPrevious mentorship or leadership experience overseeing junior engineersEEO StatementWe are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day.
