Position Summary A Water Safety Instructor (WSI) plays a vital role in empowering individuals to enjoy the water safely and confidently. As a Water Safety Instructor, you will play a crucial role in teaching individuals of all ages essential water safety skills and swimming techniques. Your primary responsibility is to ensure the safety of participants while imparting knowledge and fostering confidence in and around aquatic environments.
This position is responsible for teaching and serving as deck coordinator for all GAC programming - including group, private and adaptive lessons. Duties include training and developing staff as a Lead Instructor and assisting with the Guilford County Schools 2nd Grade Learn to Swim Program, as needed. This position requires holding numerous water safety certifications.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $20.00-$24.00.

A state-of-the-art facility featuring cutting edge concepts in aquatic design, the GAC is located on the campus of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, the premier sports and entertainment facility in the Southeast.
Built at a cost of nearly $19 million, the GAC brings together all major aquatic sports - competitive swimming and diving, water polo, synchronized swimming and other unique sports - all in one venue. The GACs versatility offers Greensboro the opportunity to host high school and collegiate events, USA Swimming meets, U.S. Masters Swimming and U.S. Water Polo events as well as myriad local, regional, national and international competitions.
The GACs impressive national swim meet resume includes numerous NCAA, ACC, YMCA and USA Diving competitions. According to the Greensboro Convention & Visitors Bureau, the estimated economic impact of GAC events exceeds $224 million.
