POSITION SUMMARY:

Greenwich Aquatics is seeking an experienced and passionate Water Polo Coach to join our staff and work primarily with our 16U and 18U Boys & Girls teams. We are looking for someone who is committed to developing athletes, fostering a positive and competitive team environment, and contributing to the continued growth and success of our program.

PAY RANGE:

The work schedule and salary may be flexible depending on the experience.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Practices are in the later evenings (6:30-9:30pm) with heavy travel across the country over the weekends.

REPORTS TO:

Water Polo Administrator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Coach and develop 16U & 18U boys & girls water polo athletes.
  • Plan and run engaging, structured practices focused on skill development, conditioning, and game awareness.
  • Assist with team selection, game management, and travel competition planning.
  • Foster a team culture built on discipline, sportsmanship, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with the coaching staff to ensure program consistency and athlete development across all age groups.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous coaching experience in competitive water polo (club, high school, or collegiate level).
  • Strong knowledge of water polo fundamentals, tactics, and training methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to motivate and mentor youth athletes.
  • Willingness to travel extensively on weekends

SALARY/BENEFITS

  • Salary is competitive dependent upon experience.
  • YMCA provides an Individual Membership to all Part-Time staff.
