Job Summary
The Wastewater Supervisor controls water flows and processes through plant and biological equipment/systems. Performs tests, maintenance, etc. to ensure proper operation of all wastewater related equipment.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities

- Ensure proper operation of the entire wastewater and air scrubber systems.
- Manages performance of individuals to ensure that procedures are being held to highest standards.
- Monitor chemical inventory and usage throughout wastewater treatment processes and order as needed.
- Perform monthly stormwater inspection.
- Perform monthly chemical inventory.
- Ensure compliance sampling schedule is followed.
- Oversee land application and ensure operators are following guidelines/procedures.
- Assists maintenance with projects or work in area of responsibility.
- Complete all records and testing required by the EPA, State and Darling Ingredients.
- Enter data into spreadsheets and compliance tracker.
- Cover shift when operators are absent.
- Ensure compliance with all Public Potable Water system requirements.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum of class D wastewater operators certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of previous work experience with wastewater systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Self-starter; self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Good with math, computer, and oral communication skills.
- Must be willing to obtain wastewater certifications and update as necessary.
- Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience, preferably in wastewater operations.
Physical Demands
- Frequently lifts up to 10 lbs.
- Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing and crawling.
Work Environment
- Job functions performed outside in all types of weather; hot and humid in plant.
- In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
