Description POSITION SUMMARY We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Wastewater Operator Intern within the DuPage County Public Works Department. This position is eligible for Paid Leave hours at a proportional rate based on the number of hours regularly scheduled to work. RESPONSIBILITIES • Draws samples of water for laboratory tests and analyses • Cleaning of machinery, equipment, and pumps • Observe and assist with addition of chemicals according to prescribed standards • Reads gauges and transmits data to superior • Observe and assist with routine chemical analyses of water • Observe and assist operators with plant rounds • Observe and assist with operation of plant equipment
REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE • Requires the applicant to be actively taking undergraduate or graduate level courses at an accredited institution to obtain an Illinois water/wastewater license, Associates, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree, or be a recent graduate (within one year). • Requires a valid drivers license. • A pre-employment background check is required
