About Red Dog
Red Dog Operations is both the largest critical minerals mine in the United States and one of the largest zinc mines in the world. In 1982, Red Dog was developed through a partnership between Teck and the land-owner NANA, an Alaska Native corporation owned by the Iñupiat of northwest Alaska. The partnership between Teck and NANA ensures real benefits for the local Iñupiat community, while recognizing there is still more to do as we advance our commitment to sustainable practices and meaningful engagement.
Role Overview
Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations is recruiting for a Waste Management Coordinator to support the updating and implementation of RDO's waste management and recycling programs. The position will coordinate with all departments to accomplish the outlined goals and will report to the Environmental Team Lead.
Work Schedule: 2 weeks on-site, with 2 weeks off-site
Responsibilities:
o Scrap metal
o Used oil and glycol streams
o Scrap vehicles & equipment
o Other solid waste & recyclable streams
Qualifications:
o Metals mine-specific experience preferred
o Experience within Alaska preferred
o SAAs and CAAs
o Hazardous waste manifests
o Waste determinations, waste profiling, and associated requirements
o MSHA Part 48 Surface Mining training
o OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER training
o Comprehensive RCRA training
o DOT and IATA training
