Job Title: Warehouse Worker
Job Description
This Warehouse Worker role supports a small distribution facility that receives PVC piping from a manufacturing site and stores it for weekly outbound shipments. You will handle a variety of hands-on warehouse tasks, including order pulling, pallet building, and forklift operation, to ensure accurate and timely shipping and receiving. The position offers a consistent first-shift schedule in a small, close-knit warehouse team environment.
Responsibilities
Pullorders accurately by following detailed shipping lists.
Build pallets efficiently and securely for outbound shipments.
Manually shrink wrap pallets to prepare them for transport.
Place completed pallets in designated staging areas near the dock.
Create and apply accurate shipping labels for outbound orders.
Receive and unload inbound shipments from trucks, typically once per week.
Verify incoming shipments against packing lists to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Store goods in designated warehouse locations according to facility procedures.
Pull stock from storage locations to fulfill outbound orders.
Complete weekly inventory counts to maintain accurate stock records.
Operate a forklift to load and unload trucks and move materials within the warehouse.
Perform regular forklift safety checks and document findings as required.
Report any safety issues, equipment concerns, or hazards promptly to support a safe work environment.
Handle general material handling tasks such as loading, unloading, and labeling as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience with packing and order picking in a warehouse or similar environment.
General labor experience in a physical, hands-on role.
Material handling skills, including moving, staging, and organizing products.
Ability to operate or quickly learn to operate a forklift safely.
Experience using an RF scanner to locate, pick, or track inventory.
Ability to load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
Attention to detail for accurate labeling, shipping documentation, and inventory verification.
Commitment to following safety procedures and reporting safety issues promptly.

Work Environment
The role is based in a very small warehouse facility with approximately three employees, fostering a close-knit and collaborative atmosphere. The position operates on a first-shift schedule, typically from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $16.25 - $16.25/hr.
