Warehouse & Fleet Supervisor

About the Opportunity

The Hammitt Group is conducting a confidential search for a Warehouse & Fleet Supervisor on behalf of a growing electrical contractor. This role is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, fleet coordination, inventory management, and vendor relationships to ensure efficient support of field operations.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with experience managing warehouse functions, company vehicles, tools, equipment, and supplier partnerships in a construction, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, or related trade environment.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

  • Manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, inventory control, material staging, and distribution.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels of electrical materials, tools, equipment, and consumables.
  • Implement and maintain warehouse organization systems to improve efficiency and accountability.
  • Conduct routine inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and pickups to support project schedules and field teams.
  • Ensure warehouse safety standards and housekeeping requirements are consistently maintained.

Fleet Management

  • Oversee company vehicle and equipment fleet, including trucks, vans, trailers, and specialty equipment.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, registrations, and licensing requirements.
  • Track fleet utilization, fuel usage, maintenance costs, and vehicle performance.
  • Manage relationships with service providers and repair facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable transportation regulations.

Vendor & Supplier Management

  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and service providers.
  • Source materials, equipment, and services while negotiating competitive pricing and service agreements.
  • Monitor vendor performance related to quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost.
  • Assist with procurement activities and purchase order management.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements throughout the supply chain.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate daily work assignments.
  • Train employees on warehouse procedures, inventory systems, safety practices, and equipment operation.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and employee development initiatives.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of warehouse, logistics, inventory, or operations leadership experience.
  • Experience managing company vehicles, equipment fleets, or transportation assets.
  • Strong inventory management and organizational skills.
  • Experience working with vendors, suppliers, and procurement processes.
  • Proficiency with inventory software, Microsoft Office, and reporting tools.
  • Ability to lift and move materials as needed and work in a warehouse environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Electrical contracting, construction, HVAC, plumbing, industrial services, or related trades experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical materials and jobsite logistics.
  • Experience with fleet tracking, maintenance software, or GPS management platforms.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
