Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor – Shipping, Receiving & Order Fulfillment

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor – Shipping, Receiving & Order Fulfillment is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations in a regulated biopharmaceutical or medical device environment. This role leads a team responsible for order picking, material handling, shipping, receiving, and inventory control while ensuring full compliance with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GDP (Good Documentation Practices), and company quality standards.

The supervisor ensures warehouse processes are executed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with regulatory requirements. This position also plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring proper documentation, and supporting operational excellence across warehouse functions.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Operations

  • Supervise and support daily activities of warehouse staff involved in order fulfillment, shipping, receiving, and inventory management.

  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure operational deadlines are met.

  • Train employees on warehouse procedures, safety standards, and compliance requirements.

  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance support to team members.

Order Fulfillment Oversight

  • Ensure accurate picking, packing, and staging of materials for internal production or external shipment.

  • Verify lot numbers, part numbers, expiration dates, and quantities during order fulfillment.

  • Ensure materials are handled according to controlled procedures and quality standards.

  • Monitor order accuracy and implement improvements to reduce errors.

Shipping Operations

  • Ensure proper preparation of packing slips, shipping labels, and regulatory documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with cold chain, hazardous materials, or controlled shipping requirements when applicable.

  • Coordinate with logistics providers for pickup scheduling and shipment tracking.

Receiving Operations

  • Oversee receiving of incoming materials, components, and supplies.

  • Ensure shipments are inspected for damage, discrepancies, and documentation accuracy.

  • Verify materials against purchase orders and packing slips.

  • Ensure accurate system transactions are completed in ERP or warehouse management systems.

Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee cycle counting programs.

  • Ensure materials are stored in designated locations following FIFO/FEFO practices.

  • Assist with inventory reconciliation, audits, and stock investigations.

  • Oversee inventory transfers between warehouse locations.

Compliance & Quality

  • Ensure warehouse operations follow GMP, GDP, and company SOPs.

  • Maintain traceability of materials, lots, and batches.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as FDA and ISO standards.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.

  • Support internal and external audits when required.


Qualifications

Required

  • 3–5+ years of warehouse experience within a biopharmaceutical, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or medical device environment.

  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in a warehouse or logistics setting.

  • Strong understanding of GMP / GDP regulated environments.

  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment processes.

  • Experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.

  • Ability to read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Preferred

  • Experience with temperature-controlled or cold chain materials.

  • Knowledge of lot control and traceability requirements.

  • Experience managing inventory cycle counts and warehouse audits.

  • Forklift or pallet jack certification.

  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365.
