Job Summary: The Shake Table Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining shake tables used for testing the seismic performance and structural integrity of various materials and structures. This role requires a strong understanding of testing procedures, attention to detail, and the ability to work with complex machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
Operation: Set up, operate, and monitor shake tables to simulate seismic activity and test the response of materials and structures. Preparation: Prepare test specimens and ensure they are securely mounted and aligned according to testing protocols. Monitoring: Continuously observe test procedures and equipment during operations to ensure tests are conducted accurately and safely. Data Collection: Record and analyze test data, including vibrations, accelerations, and structural responses. Ensure data integrity and accuracy. Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and calibration of shake tables and related equipment. Identify and report any issues or malfunctions to the supervisor. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Documentation: Maintain detailed records of test procedures, results, and equipment maintenance. Prepare reports as needed. Continuous Improvement: Participate in training and development programs. Suggest and implement improvements to testing procedures and equipment.
