The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations within a high-volume distribution or fulfillment facility. This role ensures operational efficiency, inventory accuracy, safety compliance, productivity performance, and on-time shipping and receiving activities. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience managing large teams in fast-paced warehouse environments while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Manage day-to-day warehouse operations including receiving, shipping, inventory control, picking, packing, replenishment, and order fulfillment.
Lead, develop, and supervise warehouse supervisors, team leads, and hourly associates in a high-volume environment.
Monitor workflow, labor utilization, productivity, and operational KPIs to ensure performance goals are achieved.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, quality, safety, and cost reduction.
Ensure accurate inventory management through cycle counts, audits, and process controls.
Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety standards, and warehouse operating procedures.
Coordinate staffing levels, scheduling, and labor planning to meet operational demands and customer service expectations.
Partner with transportation, customer service, procurement, and production teams to ensure smooth operational flow.
Analyze operational reports and metrics to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
Oversee training and onboarding of warehouse personnel to ensure proper procedures and productivity standards are maintained.
Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, conveyors, and RF scanning systems.
Support implementation and optimization of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) and operational technology.
Maintain high standards for housekeeping, organization, and facility cleanliness.
Manage escalated operational issues and implement corrective action plans when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent warehouse leadership experience.
5+ years of warehouse operations leadership experience in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, or fulfillment environment.
Proven experience managing large teams in fast-paced operations.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping, and receiving processes.
Experience with WMS systems, RF scanners, and inventory control systems.
Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze operational data and implement process improvements.
Knowledge of OSHA and warehouse safety regulations.
Forklift certification preferred.
Preferred Experience
High-volume e-commerce, retail distribution, manufacturing, or 3PL experience.
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
Experience managing multi-shift operations.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
