SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for properly storing, transporting, and shipping hose to the appropriate customer to ensure a timely delivery based on the customer needs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Must be capable of following and meeting standard work requirements including but not limited to:

  2. Safely operate forklift and other Powered Industrial Trucks as needed.

  3. Verify finished product is properly weighed and identified with the product code.

  4. Proficiently use and operate systems such as UPS Worldwide

  5. Properly receive materials into the plant

  6. Make scan labels for raw materials into the APC system

  7. Receive incoming material into the Mainframe system

  8. Assure accurate counts of material are being loaded or unloaded, perform periodic cycle count inventories, and perform bar code transactions for product movement and inventory

  9. Physically break down pallets of product to dispense them to designated customers.

  10. Properly wrap and or band pallets in preparation to load

  11. Load/unload freight for processing

  12. Prepare and complete necessary paperwork.

  13. Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

  14. Ensure quality by identifying issues with product that is not suitable to ship to our customers and initiating sign-off procedure for incoming damaged product

  15. Warehouse will help maintain tugger routes.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/ NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Work safely in accordance with regulations, standards, and procedures in a manner that eliminates risk to health and the environment. Notify leadership of unsafe conditions or practices unlawful activities and activities which present unreasonable health and/or environmental risk. Report all safety and/or environmental incidents to leadership immediately.

  • Prevent excess waste of product and/or components by operating the equipment in an efficient manner.

  • Maintain production schedules.

  • Participate in peer-based teams (i.e., Natural High Performance Teams), and work with groups to initiate and implement programs such as Lean Manufacturing and 5-S.

  • Other duties may be assigned later.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/ preferred:

High School diploma or GED

Experience:

Production work preferred but not required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Basic knowledge and use of hand tools

  • Sound decision making skills

  • Good math, reading, writing skills

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude

  • Mental and visual acuity for production of quality product

  • Strong trouble shooting skills

  • Must have a positive attitude

Skills/Competencies:

  1. Basic computer skills - Microsoft Office package

  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Other Skills:

Ability to work well in a team environment

Employee must pass Pre-employment screening

  • Report directly to Production Control Specialist

  • Work closely with Maintenance to resolve issues with the equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Required PPE:

  • Safety glasses

  • Green safety vest, shirt, or sweatshirt

  • ANSI Z41 Safety Shoes

  • Safety Harness for Turret operators

  • Sitting and driving is required for extended periods of time. Standing, walking, carrying, stooping, bending, reaching & lifting are done on a frequent basis. Climbing, lifting overhead, pushing, pulling & grasping are performed on an occasional basis.

  • Requires high degree of manual dexterity, which could be performed under restrictive conditions.

  • Requires flexible hours and short notice for overtime.
