Job Description: Warehouse Delivery Lead

Job Title: Warehouse Delivery Lead
Department: Warehouse & Logistics
Reports To: Warehouse Manager / Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Warehouse Delivery Lead is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations and coordinating delivery activities to ensure products are received, stored, and delivered accurately, safely, and on time. This role provides leadership to warehouse associates and delivery drivers, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise daily warehouse and delivery operations.
  • Coordinate delivery schedules and routes to maximize efficiency and meet customer expectations.
  • Oversee the receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of products.
  • Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately, on time, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.
  • Train, coach, and mentor warehouse staff and delivery personnel.
  • Enforce workplace safety policies and maintain compliance with OSHA and company guidelines.
  • Inspect delivery vehicles and warehouse equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
  • Resolve delivery issues, customer concerns, and operational challenges promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of shipments, deliveries, inventory movements, and equipment inspections.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to ensure efficient order fulfillment.
  • Assist with hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations of warehouse staff as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution experience.
  • Previous supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (CDL preferred if required by company).
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification.
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Work in varying warehouse temperatures and weather conditions during deliveries.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience with route planning and delivery logistics.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and promote a positive work environment.
