Objectives

 

A. To provide maximum service to members and the Cooperative by efficiently planning and assisting in the performance of daily activities of First Electric Cooperative Corporation and Connect2First Internet, LLC relative to inventory and supply of material, equipment and tools used in the construction and maintenance of Cooperative facilities.

 

B. To accurately maintain records of material issued and received within the First Electric Cooperative Corporation and Connect2First Internet, LLC Cooperative service areas.

 

C. To further the work of First Electric Cooperative Corporation and Connect2First Internet, LLC by issuing to and receiving material from Cooperative employees, Contractors and Suppliers.

 

D. Provide assistance in preparation of work orders, final staking sheets and performing necessary office services.

 

 

II. Reporting Relationships

 

A. Reports to Fiber Operations Manager

 

B. Directs none.


III. Essential Functions

A. Continuously monitors and orders material, supplies and tools needed to maintain a readily available inventory for construction, maintenance and service of Cooperative facilities.

 

B. Ensures the appropriate entries and timely submission of all forms or records associated with the daily activities and material records are properly completed, to include but are not limited to:

 

1. Employee daily time sheets

 

2. Material transaction forms

 

3. Staking sheets

 

4. Mapping locations

 

5. Control log records

 

a. Work orders

 

b. Meter base log

 

c. Material transfer records

 

C. Issues and receives material, tools and supplies for operations, maintenance, construction and retirement of Cooperative facilities.

 

D. Inspects and verifies quantity and condition of material received and assists in loading and unloading shipments of material.

 

E. Disassembles and returns usable retired material to inventory.

Position Description

Warehouse Worker

 

 

F. Makes deliveries to and from associated warehouses, and occasionally to the field to support cooperative employees while on the job that may need unplanned material.

 

G. Assists in the taking of annual inventory of material, supplies and equipment in First Electric Cooperative Corporation and Connect2First Internet, LLC.

 

H. Available for emergency restorations and storm events to ensure cooperative employees have tools and material to support the membership.

 

I. Participates in safety, training and employee meetings, complies with all safety regulations, develops safe working habits and promotes safe working practices among Cooperative employees and consumers.

 

 

IV. Other Functions

 

A. Assumes any additional responsibilities or duties as may be required or assigned.

 

B. Assists other departments when needed.

 

 

V. Relationships

 

A. Internal

1. Fiber Operations Manager: To request and provide advice or assistance: to seek necessary approval and keep informed of policies and procedures affectinge

2. Fiber Construction and Fiber Operations Supervisors: To confer and coordinate the scheduling of work and supply of materials.

 

3. Engineering Department: To provide information and assistance about fiber construction, material, district mapping and inventory.

 

4. Plant Accounting to confer on procedures, inventory control and material levels.

 

5. Other Personnel: To provide material information and coordinate movement of material between warehouses. Develops and maintains a good and safe working relationship to exchange ideas, information and job experiences that will improve the work of the Cooperative.

 

B. External

 

1. Members: To give courteous and accurate information and direct them to appropriate personnel, explain at every opportunity the services and benefits to which a member of the Cooperative is entitled.

 

2. General Public: To improve public relations and maintain high acceptance and support of the Cooperative and the support the community and be a good citizen.

 

3. Other Agencies: Assist with the receipt and shipment of material, supplies and equipment. Provide and receive information concerning the location of facilities and inform them of wiring specifications.

 

 

VI. Wage and Salary Information

 

A. This position is an hourly rated non-exempt position under the Wage and Hour law and overtime compensation must be paid.

 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS

WAREHOUSE COORDINATOR

 

Education
Basic mathematical skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication and division are necessary. Reading comprehension of technical manuals, power line construction units, fiber construction units, along with ability to provide written communications.

Experience
Two years experience in accounting or inventory control, or two (2) years course work in principals of accounting or related fields, or five (5) years work experience in purchasing, shipping or receiving.

 

 

Job Knowledge

Knowledge of warehouse procedures, shipping and receiving methods and fundamental knowledge of fiber line construction would be helpful.

 

 

Abilities and Skills

Must be able to operate portable and fixed lifting equipment (forklift, 2-wheel dolly, etc.). Must be able to lift 50 pounds. Must be able to operate office machines, calculator, and computer. Must possess current and valid driver's license.

 

 

Working Conditions

Job involves approximately 90 percent warehouse and office work and 10 percent outside work. Irregular work schedule with some overtime work when necessary. Overnight work and travel may occasionally be required.
