THE ROLE

The Warehouse Associate is a full time role and will report to the Warehouse Supervisor. This role is responsible for a wide range of warehouse activities, including unloading trucks, pulling and packing stock for shipment, palletizing bulk orders, operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment, and replenishing shelves. The associate will also log and inspect product returns, restock inventory, and support the Marketing Department by preparing, shipping, and receiving large trade show materials. Additional duties include maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe warehouse environment, performing daily cycle counts, operating computer-based shipping programs, and securing the facility after hours.


THE JOB

Handles Goods
  • Unloads trucks/containers
  • Processes incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders or invoices
  • Pulls stock from appropriate bins/shelving and delivers to packing area to prepare for shipping
  • Audits orders prior to packing to verify accuracy
  • Packs orders in their appropriate shipping boxes that can weigh between 10 – 60 pounds
  • Prepares outgoing shipments by packing, labeling, and prepping for UPS or FedEx
  • Maintains accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
  • Palletizes and shrink wraps large bulk orders that can weigh in excess of 400 pounds
  • Operates forklifts, order pickers and/or hand forklifts to transport stock in and about the warehouse
  • Pushes and pulls stock that weighs in excess of 100 pounds with the hand forklift to replenish stock or to prepare stock for customer orders
  • Sorts and places stock and supplies on racks or shelves or in bins
  • Replenishes the shelves with stock by climbing up and down the ladder or by using the order picker
  • Conducts daily cycle counts
  • Operates a computer-based shipping program (UPS Worldship experience preferred)

Handles Returns
  • Logs all returns / repairs into an Excel spreadsheet
  • Checks the returned boots for condition and quality
  • Restocks the boots after release from the Distribution Department

Handles Marketing Materials
  • Supports Marketing Department in preparing trade show materials (wooden crates, flight cases, pallets, etc.)
  • Packages and ships large sales displays and other marketing materials that can weigh in excess of 180 pounds for trade shows and for customers
  • Receives returned trade show materials
  • Repairs damaged trade show materials

Additional Duties
  • Maintains an orderly and clean warehouse
  • Ensures the locking of the warehouse and the activation of the alarm system after closing hours either personally or in cooperation with the customer service team
  • Disposes of excess packing material
  • Ensures the safety and fulfillment of the fire regulations in the warehouse area
  • Maintains building

THE SKILLS NEEDED
  • Previous experience in order picking, shipping/receiving, and stock handling
  • UPS Worldship experience highly preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
  • An absence of a fear of heights
  • An absence of any lifting restrictions
  • Significant tolerance of high and low temperature levels as the warehouse is not climate controlled
  • Ability to operate lifts in close quarters
  • Ability to work in cooperation with others
  • Able to stand for long periods, sit, walk, push, pull, bend, climb and able to move/lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
