The Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in supporting the safe and efficient flow of materials within a chemical manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for handling equipment, managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and executing shipping and receiving activities. Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment, the Warehouse Associate ensures timely movement of raw materials and finished goods while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental standards, and operational procedures. This role is essential to maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting production schedules, and contributing to overall plant performance.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to all safety protocols and actively contributes to the site's safety and health management program.
  • Prepare and package products for shipment in compliance with company procedures and DOT 49CFR regulations, including labeling, stenciling,banding,and wrapping.
  • Verify all incoming materials are accurately counted and properly labeled before receiving and storage; ensure outgoing shipments meet labeling and documentation standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of products according to schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Support inventory accuracy through participation in weekly, monthly, and annual cycle counts.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and labeling of materials.
  • Safely handle materials using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Operate forklifts in accordance with company safety policies and certification requirements.
  • Review and verify shipping and receiving paperwork, document discrepancies, and coordinate corrections with appropriate departments.
  • Inspect trailers and containers for integrity and safety prior to loading/unloading; report hazards to Operations Manager immediately.
  • Record deliveries accurately and ensure all documentation is signed and filed appropriately.
  • Work independently with clear instructions while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
  • Strong ability to interpret and execute written, verbal, schematic, and scheduled instructions in a plant setting.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management to support warehouse and business needs.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must obtain forklift operator certification within 45 days of hire in accordance with company safety standards and OSHA regulations.
  • Must complete U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials (49 CFR) training within90 days of hire to ensure regulatory compliance in handling and shipping hazardous materials.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation, labeling, and inventory management.
  • Maintains a proactive approach to workplace safety and adheres to all environmental compliance standards and company policies.
  • Capable of working collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and accountability when working independently to meet operational goals.
  • Willingness to work weekends, day or night shifts, as required to support production demands and ensure timely order fulfillment.
  • Familiarity in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint, for effective communication, documentation, and reporting.
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact effectively with team members, leadership, and external partners.
  • Demonstrates punctuality, dependability, and a consistent attendance record, contributing to operational continuity and team success.
  • Actively participates in the company's safety program, including monthly safety meetings, to promote a culture of continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
  • Must meet requirements of the company's respiratory protection program, including being clean-shaven and capable of wearing a respirator when job tasks or safety protocols are necessary.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience Requirements:

  • 6 months to 1 year in a warehouse facility or other applicable experience.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to strong odors, moving mechanical parts, loud noises, and vibrations.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full-face respirators, required in designated areas.
  • Regularly requires standing, reaching, kneeling, verbal communication, and good hearing.
  • Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasional work in varying and extreme weather conditions.
