The Opportunity:


The Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) in Washington State University, College of Veterinary Medicine is hiring a VTH Technical Staff Supervisor. In this role you will lead and support all technical staff operations within the WSU VTH, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant patient care. In this position, you will oversee veterinary technicians, veterinary technician assistants, and dosimetrists/radiation therapists, ensuring consistent standards of excellence across the hospital. You will develop, maintain, and share VTH policies and procedures while actively participating in overall hospital operations, with a focus on strategic goals, recruitment, onboarding, training, mentoring, and fostering a positive, efficient hospital culture. As a trusted liaison between technical staff and administration, you will use your strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to support collaboration, drive continuous improvement, and promote excellence in a service-oriented teaching hospital environment.


Additional Information:


This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime exempt.


Monthly Salary: $5,485.73 - $8,402.20 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications


In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications


• A bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business or medical-related field) and five (5) years of progressive responsibility in a related field which includes at least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of hospital operations processes and veterinary or human medicine terms, procedures, laws and regulations are also required.


• Experience working in veterinary or human medical hospital in leadership position.


• Database management system experience (i.e. Microsoft Access).


• Proficiency in use of practice management and electronic medical record systems.


Preferred Qualifications


• Licensed Veterinary Technician or professional certification in a veterinary related field preferred.
