Serving the community since 1927, Welbourne has built a strong legacy of nurturing early childhood development through a holistic, hands-on curriculum that blends play-based learning with academic enrichment. We care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years old, offering programs in both English and Spanish, and participate in Florida’s VPK and School Readiness (4C) programs to support families of all backgrounds. Our center features unique learning environments, including a music enrichment program and an outdoor “Kinder-Garden” classroom that fosters creativity and exploration. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday – Friday 9 am – 6 pm. The starting rate of pay is $15-18 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This is an onsite position at our center located: 450 W Welbourne Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789

The VPK Co Teacher coordinates engaging developmental activities, implements a curriculum that prepares children for school, and enhances their pre-reading, pre-math, language, and social skills.  The Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) Teacher serves as a model and mentor.  In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to build a dynamic classroom environment, create fun-filled learning activities, and support the growth and success of children while also serving as a floater after VPK hours where needed.

What You’ll Do:
•    Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards
•    Lead by example and encourage success through modeling and coaching
•    Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to engage children and encourage social, cognitive, and emotional growth
•    Follow all facility policies and state regulations
•    Maintain a personal and professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement

What We Need from You:
•   High school diploma / GED,  or degree in a related field of study required
•   FL DCF 45 hours required with CDA
•   VPK Endorsement highly preferred

•   Must clear a full DCF background check
•   At least 1 year of professional early childhood training/experience 
•   CPR, First Aid, and Fire Extinguisher Certification completion within 30 days of employment
