Vice President, Patient Care Services – Midwest Location/Community Hospital

The Vice President of Patient Care Services (VP-PCS) is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, and operational oversight of all patient care services within the hospital. This role ensures the highest quality of patient care while driving efficiency, regulatory compliance, and innovation in clinical practices. The VP-PCS collaborates with medical staff, nursing leadership, and administrative teams to enhance patient experience, improve clinical outcomes, and optimize resource utilization.

  • Provide executive leadership and direction for all patient care services, ensuring alignment with the hospital's mission, vision, and strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead nursing and clinical teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads and medical staff to optimize patient flow, staffing models, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in patient care.
  • Develop and manage the budget for patient care services, ensuring financial stewardship and operational efficiency.
  • Implement initiatives to improve patient experience, including satisfaction scores, communication strategies, and service excellence programs.
  • Drive innovation and technology adoption to enhance patient care delivery and operational performance.
  • Mentor and develop nursing and clinical leadership teams, fostering professional growth and succession planning.
  • Serve as a key liaison between hospital administration, clinical staff, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MSN), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Business Administration (MBA), or a related field required.
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in patient care services, nursing administration, or hospital operations.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, quality improvement initiatives, and financial management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, drive change, and improve patient outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and clinical information systems preferred.
