Job Description Summary:

  • Risk Management for the medical center including owned physician practices. Insurance Renewals, Claims Management for Professional Liability, General Liability, Property & Auto. Performance Improvement,
  • The Joint Commission Accreditation (or other accrediting organizations) inclusive of Certified Programs
  • Oversee the implementation and utilization of Quality registries to drive performance improvement and quality of care.
  • Oversee Infection Control Program
  • Oversee Patient Safety Program and align with Risk Management.  This should include collaboration on efforts to ensure patient and employee safety.
  • Collaborate with other Departments in the Organization to drive performance on publicly reported quality and safety measures inclusive but not limited to CMS programs, Leapfrog, Healthgrades and US News & World Reports. 
  • Oversee Performance Improvement efforts to drive quality and safe care in collaboration with nursing, physicians, and other stakeholders within the organization. 

Qualifications:

The Vice President will be an experienced healthcare professional with the following experience:

•      Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Business Administration, or a Juris Doctorate degree preferred.

•      Five to eight years of healthcare experience dealing with serious incidents and claims, with a minimum of eight years of management experience.

•      The ability to maintain confidentiality of serious incident reporting and claims activity.

•      A strong understanding of laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance related to healthcare risk management including abuse and neglect.
