Kforce is partnering with a client in the Saint Louis area to find a VP of Investment Accounting. Responsibilities:
  • Lead investment accounting operations, reporting, and governance for invested assets and related income
  • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes across multiple reporting bases
  • Provide guidance on complex investment transactions, accounting policy, and regulatory compliance
  • Partner closely with senior investment and finance leadership to support strategy, reporting, and business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance processes
  • Deliver executive-level reporting, financial analysis, and insights to key stakeholders
  • Drive process improvements, automation, system enhancements, and operational efficiencies
  • Support acquisitions, due diligence activities, and cross-functional strategic projects
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team while fostering collaboration and continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree, CPA, or CFA preferred
  • 12+ years of accounting or auditing experience, including significant investment accounting experience with strong GAAP and statutory accounting knowledge
  • Prior leadership experience managing teams within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services environments preferred
  • Strong investment accounting experience to lead the investment accounting team; Would love to see investment accounting or accounting related to bonds, private credit and private equity
  • Strong understanding of investment accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and business operations
  • Proficiency with Excel, SQL/query tools, and financial systems
  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, and process improvement capabilities
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders, drive change, and support strategic business initiatives in a fast-paced environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
