VP of International Reporting | Boston, MA | Private Equity
Our team is working with a leading private equity fund based in Boston, looking to hire a VP of International Reporting to their growing team. The VP of International Reporting will be responsible for overseeing the global accounting and reporting function for international subsidiaries, managing close processes, multi-currency accounting, statutory reporting, and consolidation activities across non-U.S. entities. Responsibilities include leading and developing the international accounting team, managing external providers and auditors, and partnering with Tax, Legal, FP&A, and Corporate Accounting teams on entity governance, compliance, and cross-border financial matters. The position also drives executive reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis to support leadership decision-making while strengthening internal controls and mitigating financial and operational risks.

Responsibilities:
Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes for all non-U.S. subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines.
Oversee the review and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations, intercompany activity, bank and cash activity, payroll-related entries, expense accruals, and management fee allocations.
Oversee multi-currency accounting, intercompany balances, subsidiary cash positions, and consolidation within the global ledger.
Ensure the integrity of local-provider data uploaded into Workday or other ERP systems, including alternate account mapping and alignment with corporate reporting requirements.
Own the statutory reporting calendar across all international entities
Oversee external audit firms and in-country accounting service providers, including deliverable quality, timeline management, issue resolution, and performance escalation.
Review and approve significant statutory financial statements, reporting packages, supporting schedules, and audit responses
Partner with Tax, Legal, and local advisors on VAT, corporate tax filings, transfer pricing documentation, intercompany arrangements, and related-party accounting considerations.
Provide finance leadership for entity lifecycle activity, including incorporations, restructurings, mergers, liquidations, and wind-downs across international jurisdictions.
Support accounting and finance requirements related to Advisory Fee Agreements, Board Resolutions, Powers of Attorney, Annual General Meetings, board interactions, and regulatory or tax authority inquiries.
Lead review of international subsidiary financial results and oversee preparation of executive-level reporting, monthly business review materials, board decks, and variance analysis.
Provide concise commentary on subsidiary performance, budget-versus-actual results, cash positions, trends, risks, and operational drivers.
Own the internal control framework for international accounting, including review controls, provider controls, account reconciliations, cash controls, documentation standards, and financial reporting controls.
Identify, assess, monitor, and remediate financial reporting and operational risks across the international entity structure.
Set the process improvement roadmap for international accounting
Partner with IT and Finance Systems teams to enhance Workday workflows, account mapping, reporting packages, and data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
Evaluate and implement technology solutions that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, strengthen controls, and support the scalability of the international accounting function.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field required. CPA or equivalent strongly preferred.
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including team management and complex multinational accounting operations. Big 4 public accounting and private equity/investment management experience are highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAP; significant experience with multi-currency accounting, statutory reporting, consolidation, controls, and external service provider management.
Experience with ERP systems, Workday preferred, and reporting/analytics tools such as Power BI or Tableau; strong Excel skills required.
Proven ability to lead high-performing teams, manage external providers across multiple jurisdictions, communicate with senior leadership, and prioritize competing global deadlines in a collaborative, solutions-oriented manner.
