Alliance Resource Group is partnered with a privately held, family-owned material handling and warehouse storage solutions company in the Fullerton area on their search for a VP of Finance. This is the top finance seat in the organization, reporting directly to the CEO. The company operates across multiple entities and locations in four states, has grown significantly over the past several years, and is projecting 18 to 25 percent annual growth going forward.

This is a hands-on senior finance role, not a purely strategic one. The CEO is looking for an operator who will step into the day-to-day on month-end close, sales tax compliance, CPA and audit coordination, and reporting until everything is running to standard, while also building out FP&A, dashboards, and executive reporting over time. The company recently completed an ERP migration and is roughly 75 to 80 percent through implementation, so post-implementation cleanup, multi-entity data integration, and reporting buildout are central to year one.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own all finance and accounting across multiple entities, including month-end and year-end close, consolidation, and GAAP-compliant financial reporting
  • Tighten the close cycle, strengthen internal controls, and build scalable accounting policies and procedures
  • Lead sales tax compliance across multi-state operations and coordinate with external CPA firm on audit, tax, and advisory matters
  • Partner with the CEO and executive team on FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, dashboards, and executive-level reporting
  • Drive post-implementation ERP cleanup, multi-entity data integration, and reporting buildout in partnership with internal and external system resources
  • Oversee cash flow planning, banking relationships, covenant compliance, insurance renewals, and recurring compliance items
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, including the Director of Finance and team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and HR to align financial goals with business objectives and surface margin, cost, and profitability insights

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including leadership roles
  • Multi-entity or multi-location experience is essential
  • Strong GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance background
  • Hands-on operator profile, recent and direct experience with close, sales tax, audit coordination, and reporting cleanup
  • ERP experience required, including post-implementation cleanup or migration involvement
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to operate both at a high level and in the details
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • CPA or MBA
  • NetSuite experience, or experience with an ERP migration into a comparable system
  • Industry background in manufacturing, construction, warehousing, logistics, or distribution
  • Experience leading a finance function through a growth or transition phase
