Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a senior-level candidate to support all retail production and operations staff. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of frontline Underwriting experience.

What you'll do:


Evaluate loan level challenges and provide solutions to production staff and management.
Identify risks and assess loans for marketability and performance.
Assist with process, procedures, guideline changes, etc.
Work with all departments, both regionally and corporately, to support retail production.
Forecast future frequency and severity of losses while monitoring reports to mitigate risk.
Find risk mitigation solutions and identify and implement programs/processes needed for loss mitigation.
Identify areas where training is needed and provide training to staff.
Identify inefficiencies in processes and find solutions.
Actively assist senior staff in determining capacity, needs, risk decisions, etc.
Collaborate between regional and corporate departments.
Participate in trainings, meetings, and calls.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Support senior management as needed.

What you'll need to be successful:

* Minimum 10 years of mortgage experience- 5+ years of frontline underwriting is required

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

* Ability to research effectively and is solution-oriented

* The ability to work well with people is important

* Requires strong verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to research effectively to make reasoned decisions quickly

* Must have a strong knowledge of industry standards, and government regulations
