Responsibilities

The Vice President, Controller provides executive leadership over core controllership and financial operations functions, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Treasury, and Government Reimbursement. This role is accountable for the integrity of financial operations, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and the development and execution of strategies, programs, and services that support Community Health System's mission and strategic objectives. Translates organizational priorities established by executive leadership into division goals and operational direction and provides leadership and guidance to subordinate leaders.

Qualifications

Education Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required

Experience Significant executive-level experience in financial leadership within a large healthcare or complex organization, with oversight of multiple financial disciplines required Experience within hospital, healthcare, or not-for-profit environments preferred

Licenses and Certifications Certified Public Accountant (CPA) strongly preferred Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) preferred Fellow of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (FHFMA) preferred Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) preferred Other relevant finance, accounting, or healthcare financial leadership certifications may be considered
