VP, Business Development Officer of Treasury ManagementLocation: Costa Mesa, San Diego, or Los Angeles, CA (Southern California Territory)Job Type: Full-TimeClassification: Vice President (VP)Department: Treasury Management / Commercial BankingPosition SummaryWe are seeking an experienced, high-performing VP, Business Development Officer (BDO) of Treasury Management to drive commercial deposit growth across the Southern California region. This role focuses on identifying, engaging, and securing high-quality commercial relationships, primarily targeting businesses with annual revenues ranging between $10MM and $100MM.Reporting directly to the SVP, Head of Branch Banking, the Treasury Management BDO will be responsible for covering the San Diego, Orange County, and Los Angeles markets. The successful candidate will leverage deep industry knowledge, competitive treasury capabilities, and internal bank partnerships to deliver efficiency, mitigate transactional risk, and reduce operational costs for clients.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Market Growth: Actively engage the local Southern California market—both in person and remotely—to cultivate a pipeline of qualified commercial prospects and drive sustainable commercial deposit growth.Strategic Client Acquisition: Identify optimal executive-level points of contact within target firms ($10MM–$100MM revenue) and formulate tailored strategic approaches to win new Treasury Management and deposit relationships.Internal Collaboration: Partner closely with Commercial Lending Officers, Retail Banking teams, and Treasury Management Operations to deepen existing relationships, maximize deposit balances, and streamline the client onboarding process.Proposal & Relationship Analysis: Assist in conducting comprehensive relationship analysis and constructing sophisticated presentation materials for client proposals.Portfolio & Pipeline Management: Maintain meticulous records of business development activities and prospect touchpoints within internal tracking systems to ensure seamless cross-functional communication.Product Expertise: Stay current on emerging commercial banking capabilities, industry trends, and treasury management product suites to conduct thorough relationship reviews and effectively assess client needs.Internal Enablement: Update retail banking employees and commercial lenders on critical developments, portfolio milestones, and treasury strategies through monthly team meetings and regular communications.Community Involvement: Complete a minimum of 10 hours of Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) volunteer service per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled during standard business hours and represent compensable time, with travel mileage reimbursed by the Bank.Other Duties: Perform additional operational or strategic duties as assigned by department leadership.Position Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of related financial services experience.Sales Track Record: Extensive business-to-business (B2B) sales experience targeting small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and middle-market corporations.Product Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of standard cash management products, commercial deposit structures, liquidity solutions, and treasury services.Core Competencies:Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with an ability to present a positive, professional image.Strong business acumen with the ability to align sales pipelines with the overarching priorities and deposit goals of the organization.Advanced problem-solving, critical thinking, and strategic negotiation capabilities.High level of self-motivation, time management, and organization to independently maintain a healthy sales portfolio in a fast-paced environment.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.Travel RequirementsThis role covers the Southern California territory.
