Introduction
Are you passionate about public service and committed to providing excellent customer service? The Prince William County Office of Elections is seeking a detail-oriented, technology-proficient professional with strong communication skills and a positive attitude to join our team.
The Voter Registration Assistant supports accurate maintenance of voter records and assists in administering fair, secure, equitable, and transparent elections. Responsibilities include data entry, records processing, general office support, and providing assistance to voters in person, by telephone, and in writing.
All employees of the Prince William County Director of Elections serve as sworn public election officials. Employees must exercise sound judgment, maintain political neutrality, safeguard confidential information, and perform complex election-administration duties in accordance with federal, state, and local election laws. Employees may be cross-trained and temporarily assigned to voter registration, absentee voting, candidate services, election officer administration, logistics, or other operational areas as needed.
Please note: This is an at-will position that serves at the pleasure of the Director of Elections.
About This Role
The Voter Registration Assistant performs progressively responsible administrative, clerical, records management, and customer service duties supporting voter registration and local, state, and federal elections in Prince William County.
Work is performed independently under the general supervision of the Chief Deputy Registrar or designee. Duties are completed in accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Board, the Director of Elections, and applicable election laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.

Work Schedule
This is a full-time position scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week.
The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
Election periods may require mandatory overtime, extended workdays, evening and weekend work, and holidays. Leave availability may be limited during designated peak election periods.
The selected candidate will work primarily at the Office of Elections' Main Office in Manassas, Virginia.
Hiring Salary Range - $19.41-$28.00/HR.
The starting salary will be based on qualifications, relevant experience, and internal equity.
