Are you looking for a way to contribute to your Portland community? To brush up on your Mar-Comm skills? Or to meet fellow service-oriented, purpose-driven folks? Consider joining The Nonprofit Confluence team!

In this difficult moment, it is more critical than ever to come together as a community. Yet opportunities to connect, align, and collaborate across the sector remain limited. The Nonprofit Confluence addresses this need by building community and strengthening connections, enhancing the long-term viability, resilience, and collective impact of our sector while creating space to co-create a shared vision for the path ahead.

Because we believe that Portland is what we make it, we are seeking a Marketing & Communications Lead to help steward this vision as part of our all-volunteer team. This is an invitation to move beyond day-to-day survival and join us in imagining what our city could look like if we dared to dream big-if there were truly nothing standing in our way.

The Invitation: Weave Our Collective Story

As an entirely volunteer-led initiative, our strength lies in the hands of those who believe that a more unified sector is not just a dream, but a necessity. We need a communicator who understands that our "collective impact" is built one story and one connection at a time.

In this role, you will help us:

  • Imagine Without Limits: Craft communications that encourage partners to look past traditional barriers and co-create a future where our combined resources meet every community need.
  • Steward the Portland Narrative: Champion the belief that our city's future is shaped by our active participation. Your voice will help amplify the idea that "Portland is what we make it".
  • Build a Confluence of Ideas: Manage the digital outreach and storytelling that brings social service leaders together, ensuring that our solidarity summit is a space of abundance rather than scarcity.

The Impact: Why This Matters

While this role offers a professional space to lead and innovate, its core is contribution to the common good. You will be part of a team that views this conference as an antidote to overwhelm and despair-reinvigorating the sense of solidarity that allows us to better serve our neighbors as service-oriented

Who we are seeking

You are someone who believes in the power of radical imagination. Whether you are an experienced communications pro or an emerging advocate, you recognize that the viability of our sector depends on our ability to align our efforts and dream bigger than we ever have before.

Join us in making Portland what it can be.
