Qualifications
Education and Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor''s degree and five years of experience, including two years of supervisory experience in one or a combination of the following: professional museum or historic site work; paraprofessional museum work; professional experience in the instruction or research in education, art, history, or museum science; professional library experience; or professional experience in fundraising or promotional marketing activities; or related field.
Substitution of Graduate Education for Experience: Graduate coursework credit received from an accredited college or university in education, art, history, museum science, library science, anthropology, industrial design, architecture, business administration, advertising/marketing or related field may substitute for the required experience, on a year-for-year basis, to a maximum of three years, there being no substitution for the required supervisory experience (e.g., 36 graduate quarter hours in one or a combination of the above listed fields may be substituted for one year of the required experience).
Necessary Special Qualifications: Complete a background clearance application which includes releasing all records involving any criminal history and a valid motor vehicle operator''s license is required.

Overview
The Tennessee State Museum is seeking a Volunteer Manager to develop and oversee daily operations of a volunteer program. This is a new program and role that will supervise and support volunteers, providing direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions. This role ensures that volunteers are effectively prepared and aligned to create a welcoming and educational experience for all visitors to the Tennessee State Museum (TSM). The Volunteer Manager reports directly to the Director of Special Projects.
