Position Summary:

The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for recruiting, placement of volunteers, and coordination of resources with department contacts to support the Craig Hospital Volunteer program. This position is responsible for working with high schools and universities to select, onboard, train, and evaluate student interns coming in through the volunteer department. In addition, the Volunteer Coordinator will serve as a liaison between community and corporate groups, which includes managing donations and coordinating group volunteer events. The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of the Annual Volunteer Appreciation during National Volunteer Week including events, gifts, and various other appreciation.The Volunteer Coordinator is also responsible for performing duties such as coordination of meetings and conferences, obtaining supplies, coordinating direct mailings, greeting visitors, staff and physicians and work on special projects. This position will also provide assistance and back-up for the Gift Shop Coordinator.

Position Requirements:

  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations:
    • Must have current, valid CO driver's license in good standing and insurable.
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in office administration and customer service with data entry strongly preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:

Excellent organizational skills. Outstanding written and oral communication skills,ability to work independently but also collaboratively as a member of a team. Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines, while effectively managing multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities, prioritize appropriately and manage frequent interruptions. Good problem-solving skills, detail oriented and excellent follow-through. Ability to relate to persons of all ages and diverse backgrounds, skills and abilities. Ability to present self in a personable and professional manner. Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel. Ability to deal with diverse and confidential information with discretion and good judgment. Must have strong computer skills and be proficient in all Microsoft Office products.Perform high level administrative support duties including preparation of presentations, communications, documents, reports, and spreadsheets; complete diverse and complex assignments with limited direction; plan and implement projects within the department.

  • Organize and prioritize work assignments, telephone calls, visitors and correspondence.
  • Communicate with staff via email, mail and phone responding in a timely manner.
  • Communicates with supervisors/coordinators of volunteers within other departments to ensure quality throughout the hospital.
  • Maintain updated department information on the Craig Hospital intranet and internet.
  • Receive/screen telephone calls maintaining high levels of customer service and professionalism and record messages for the department appropriately.
  • Assist with Gift Shop duties, including time off coverage as needed.
  • Provide visitors with excellent customer service and ensure a positive experience.
  • Perform all general office operations to keep the department running efficiently.
  • Organize and coordinate all volunteer related events and provide volunteers for various department events as needed.
  • Become familiar with and follow hospital wide and department specific policies and procedures; seeking assistance from management when clarification or assistance is needed.
  • Assist with other duties as requested.

Pay Range: $21.59/hour - $31.09/hour
