What You'll Do:
The Volunteer and Mentor Coordinator will work closely with the Immigration & Refugee Services Program staff to build out and maintain the volunteer program and manage all elements of volunteering within the program. This role involves assessing volunteer needs within the department and meeting those needs through recruitment, training, placement, and retention of volunteers. These volunteers will conduct professional services, social support, interpretation, mentorship, support workforce readiness services, cultural orientation, etc. to clients in the Immigration & Refugee Services Programs. Candidates with an interest and commitment to immigrant rights and social justice are highly encouraged to apply. Access to reliable transportation is required. The Coordinator will also be responsible for overseeing volunteer mentors in the Refugee Youth Mentor-Ally program, which supports and develops social, academic and life skills for refugee youth.
Recruit and engage volunteers through outreach, public speaking, and community events.
Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, managing inquiries, orientations, training, and volunteer-related concerns.
Coordinate and conduct regular volunteer training sessions and professional development opportunities.
Manage volunteer records and maintain the Volunteer Hub database.
Assist in planning and supporting program events such as World Refugee Day, holiday donation drives, and volunteer appreciation activities.
Maintain accurate records of program activities, outcomes, and contacts.
Develop and implement strategies to strengthen volunteer management based on evolving community needs.
Establish and oversee the Refugee Youth Mentorship Program, including developing program materials.
Recruit, train, and match community mentors with refugee youth, while maintaining ongoing communication and follow-up.
Conduct outreach with community partners to promote the mentorship program.
Document services provided and maintain organized case notes for all program activities.

What You'll Bring:
Preferred experience in project management or supervising volunteers and staff.
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field preferred, with an MSW or master's degree considered an asset.
Multilingual abilities (such as Spanish, Haitian Creole, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, or French) preferred but not required.
Experience working with youth, particularly immigrant youth, and volunteers is desirable.
Strong cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with diverse immigrant populations and vulnerable families.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and management skills.
Ability to work independently, adapt to changing priorities, maintain professionalism and confidentiality, and effectively use Microsoft Office and database systems.
