This role is designed for a dedicated nursing professional who is passionate about bridging the gap between classroom theory and bedside practice. As a Clinical Educator, you will be the primary guide for students during their clinical rotations, teaching essential patient care, technical skills, and professional documentation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every student is mission-ready for a career in healthcare while maintaining the high standards required by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT).
Job Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction: Teach and demonstrate advanced clinical skills, direct patient care, and precise medical documentation to nursing students in real-world settings.
Student Evaluation: Collaborate with the academic team to develop innovative teaching strategies and provide constructive feedback to enhance student performance.
BVNPT Compliance: Ensure that all clinical experiences and instructional methods meet or exceed BVNPT regulatory standards.
Site Management: Maintain and foster positive, professional relationships with clinical site partners and coordinate comprehensive clinical orientations for student cohorts.
Trend Integration: Stay current with the latest trends and evidence-based practices in nursing education to provide students with a modern, competitive edge.
Documentation Review: Audit student charting and clinical logs to ensure accuracy and adherence to healthcare facility protocols.
Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the Assistant Program Director and faculty to align clinical rotations with current curriculum objectives.
Requirements
Education & Licensing
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is preferred.
Active, unencumbered California RN License is REQUIRED.
Experience Requirements
The board requires specific experience tiers for instructors. You must meet one of the following:
RN Path: BSN with at least 3 years of direct patient care (Acute Care) experience within the last 5 years.
LVN Path (Tier 1): BA/BS degree with at least 3 years of clinical experience.
LVN Path (Tier 2): Associate Degree (AA) with at least 6 years of acute care experience.
Skills & Competencies
