2026 -2027 School Year

POSITION:

Visually Impaired Teacher Consultant - ACT 18 Funded

  • (1) .5 Position

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Michigan Special Education Teacher Certification
  • Appropriate Special Education Endorsement (SK) Visually Impaired
  • Must have or be eligible for Teacher Consultant Approval
  • Must meet MCL 380.1531 & Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers
  • Demonstrate consistency and organizational skills crucial to visually impaired students
  • Experience with the SXI population preferred
  • Knowledge and skills in technology

Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable

DUTIES:

  • Use a variety of assessment techniques
  • Implement local curriculum
  • Provide research based instructional techniques
  • Complete records in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively to all members of the school & community
  • Meet the physical and mental demands of the teaching profession and the position
  • Maintain Philosophy in accord with Lincoln Park Public Schools
  • Work cooperatively
  • Follow requirements of supervisors
  • Provide professional development to staff supporting outreach students
