Description
The Department of Literature, Writing, and Journalism invites applications for a one-year, nine-month Visiting Assistant Professor of Communication. The expected teaching load is 12 credits (four courses) each semester. The department is seeking candidates with experience teaching practice-oriented communication courses, as well as first-year composition courses.
Responsibilities
Specific courses may include Introduction to Communication, Social Media Theory and Practice, Introduction to Public Relations, College Writing I and College Writing II. The position also includes providing motivated undergraduates with mentoring and insight into the field of communication.
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have an earned MA in Communication or a closely related field; a PhD is preferred. ABD candidates nearing completion will also be considered. Graduate-level training in composition and a record of publication or a professional portfolio are desired. Candidates with significant professional experience in communication-related industries are encouraged to apply.
