Your Role
Akkodis is seeking a Virtualization Operations Engineer for a Contract with a client in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will execute end-to-end VM migrations from VMware to Hyper-V using Veeam and NetApp tools.
Rate Range: $64/hour to $68/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Virtualization Operations Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Execute end-to-end virtual machine migrations from VMware vSphere (ESXi/vCenter) to Microsoft Hyper-V.
Utilize Veeam Backup & Replication for backup jobs, IVMR migrations, and final cutover activities.
Configure and manage NetApp Shift Toolkit, including ONTAP storage, SMB/NFS shares, and data transfer workflows.
Perform network configuration, IP mapping, and ensure minimal downtime during migration processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot migration tasks to ensure successful and stable system transitions.
Collaborate with infrastructure teams to validate migration plans, testing, and post-migration support.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2-4 years of experience in virtualization, infrastructure support, or cloud migration projects.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Veeam Backup & Replication, and Hyper-V migration processes.
Knowledge of NetApp ONTAP, storage configurations (SMB/NFS), and experience ensuring seamless VM migrations with minimal downtime.

Pay Details: $64.00 to $68.00 per hour
