Title - BIM Coordinator
Location: Alexandria, VA, 22312
Onsite Flexibility: Onsite and (willing to travel for site visits quarterly)
Fulltime with benefits
Pay range - $70,000 - $85,000/Yearly

Position Summary

We are seeking a BIM Coordinator that can be responsible for supporting the implementation, coordination, and maintenance of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across assigned projects. This role works closely with the VDC Manager, project teams, and trade partners to ensure model accuracy, coordination efficiency, and compliance with company BIM standards. The BIM Coordinator plays a key role in model management, clash detection, model review, and interdisciplinary coordination throughout a project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation and enforcement of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs/PXPs).
  • Manage and maintain federated BIM models from multiple disciplines.
  • Perform clash detection and coordination using Navisworks or equivalent software for internal QC check.
  • Track, document, and distribute coordination issues to stakeholders and vendors
  • Support coordination meetings and assist with agenda preparation and follow-up.
  • Ensure models comply with internal BIM standards and project requirements.
  • Assist with model-based quantity takeoffs, phasing, and logistics as required.
  • Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, designers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain model version control and proper file management practices.
  • Support field teams with model access, visualization, and troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the development of BIM workflows, templates, and best practices.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in BIM coordination or VDC-related roles.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks & Client
  • Strong understanding of construction documents and coordination workflows.
  • Ability to interpret architectural, structural, and MEP systems.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Understanding of LOD as per BIM Forum standards / BIM ISO 19650

    Preferred Skills

  • Experience with BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud.
  • Familiarity with Dynamo, point cloud workflows & laser scanning
  • Experience supporting construction-phase BIM coordination.
  • Understanding of VDC deliverables such as The Client/5D modeling.
  • Experience in Architectural scope BIM Delivery such as drywalls, exterior panels, prefabricated panels...etc
  • Ability to guide a team into BIM modeling delivery at LOD 100-500

    Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Ability to work in an office environment and on construction sites
  • Capable of lifting and carrying equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to travel
