Are you a technically deep systems engineer who thrives on optimizing complex enterprise platforms? The College of Western Idaho (CWI) is seeking an ERP Systems Engineer to lead the performance, stability, and evolution of our enterprise systems, including the Ellucian Colleague ERP and related administrative platforms.
In this role, you’ll combine hands‑on engineering expertise with strategic collaboration—ensuring reliable system operations while advancing integration, scalability, and continuous improvement across the college’s technology ecosystem.

Enterprise Systems Administration & Performance:
Oversee the administration, performance, and reliability of enterprise platforms, including ERP and hosted applications
Ensure systems are scalable, resilient, and highly available to meet institutional needs
Monitor system health, capacity, and performance trends
System Optimization & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve complex cross‑platform issues across applications, infrastructure, and integrations
Perform root cause analysis and implement long‑term solutions to reduce recurring issues and system risk
Optimize application hosting environments, including Microsoft IIS and Apache Tomcat
Platform Engineering & Lifecycle Management:
Lead and support system implementations, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
Install, configure, maintain, and update enterprise systems, operating systems, and security patches
Evaluate and recommend hardware and software enhancements to improve performance and scalability
Coordinate full lifecycle management of enterprise applications, including deployment, optimization, and stabilization
Integration, Resilience & Infrastructure:
Develop and maintain backup, recovery, and system resilience strategies in collaboration with IT Operations and vendors
Ensure backup processes, recovery procedures, and maintenance activities are regularly tested and validated
Support integration strategies and middleware across hybrid environments (cloud and on‑premise)
Collaboration, Documentation & Technical Leadership:
Collaborate with IT leadership, application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to align technology with institutional goals
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and recommendations across teams
Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences
Maintain comprehensive documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting resources
Promote knowledge sharing and cross‑training to strengthen operational resilience
What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Completion of Microsoft AZ‑800 and AZ‑801 certifications, or the ability to obtain within one year of hire
Experience supporting enterprise applications in higher education or similarly complex environments
Experience working with SaaS vendors and hybrid (cloud + on‑premise) environments
Strong understanding of SQL and enterprise data systems
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools, system performance tuning, and security best practices
Knowledge of integration and middleware patterns
Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other ERP platforms
Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
