Video Editor & Motion Graphics Artist

Our client, a leading fire safety research organization, is seeking a Video Editor & Motion Graphics Artist to join their team. As a Video Editor & Motion Graphics Artist, you will be part of the Digital Media Production team supporting the Fire Safety Research Institute (FSRI). The ideal candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, strong collaboration skills, and a problem-solving mindset that will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Video Editor & Motion Graphics Artist (Contract-to-Hire)
Location: Columbia, MD (Hybrid - Monday & Tuesday in office)
Pay Range: $31.00 - $42.00 per hour

What’s the Job?

• Edit and assemble experiment visualization videos by synchronizing fire experiment footage with animated data graphs, timers, and 3D renders.
• Create and refine motion graphics and animated data visualizations using Adobe After Effects.
• Deliver video assets through all stages of production, including rough cuts, reviews, final edits, and file delivery.
• Collaborate with producers, animators, project managers, and subject matter experts to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Maintain organized project files, media assets, and production workflows while meeting established deadlines.

What’s Needed?

• Minimum 3 years of professional video editing experience with a portfolio demonstrating motion graphics and technical video production work.
• Advanced proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
• Experience synchronizing multiple visual elements with frame-level accuracy.
• Background in video production, motion graphics, and visual design.
• Ability to work collaboratively, receive constructive feedback, and translate technical information into engaging visual content.
