As a key member of the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor's team, the Vice Provost helps lead Academic Affairs, supports shared governance, and advances the college's mission of student success. Serving within the Office of the Provost, which is responsible for curriculum and assessment, accreditation, faculty affairs and development, academic program quality and viability, workforce development, Guided Pathways, online learning, and college-wide academic planning and scheduling, and other related activities, the Vice Provost of Academic Affairs supports and advances a broad portfolio of academic functions.

Under the leadership of the Provost, the Vice Provost supervises Academic Deans, serves as a key liaison to faculty, and provides leadership to advance academic quality, innovation, and student success across the College. The position monitors the effectiveness and viability of academic programs, fosters continuous improvement, and helps ensure that academic offerings meet the highest standards of excellence. The Vice Provost also advances strategic priorities and promotes collaboration among Academic Affairs and other College divisions, including Student Affairs, Workforce Development, Finance and Administration, and Campus Operations, in support of the College's mission and goals.

As appropriate, the Vice Provost represents the Office of the Provost at College meetings, presentations, and forums, as well as with external stakeholders and community partners. In addition to leading specific initiatives, the Vice Provost plays a key role in advancing the College's academic transformation and strategic priorities by implementing the College's strategic plan, including the Educational Master Plan and Facilities Master Plan, as well as other institutional initiatives. Central to this work is a commitment to teaching and learning excellence, evidence-based innovation, and advancing strategies that increase student retention, completion, transfer, credential attainment, and workforce success. The anticipated start date for this position is January 1, 2027.

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.

  • Provides leadership to Academic Deans and fosters a culture of excellence, accountability, continuous improvement, and student success.
  • Directly supervises Academic Deans and provides administrative oversight for instructional staff, faculty, and adjunct faculty
  • Monitors the progress of strategic initiatives, tracks key milestones, and ensures projects remain aligned with institutional priorities and objectives
  • Coordinates and advances strategic initiatives on behalf of the Provost to ensure momentum, accountability, and successful implementation
  • Provides operational oversight for college-wide curriculum processes and governance, including Guided Pathways, DegreeWorks integration, the College Curriculum Council, the General Education Committee, and the Academic Standards Committee
  • Collaborates with PimaOnline leadership to strengthen online learning, student success, and academic quality
  • Partners with Workforce Development & Innovation to integrate emerging credentials, workforce-aligned pathways, skill-based learning models, noncredit offerings, and adult education programs with academic programs
  • Collaborates with Student Affairs to advance a "No Wrong Door" approach that promotes seamless student access to services, support, and educational opportunities
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships across the College, including Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Enrollment Services, Finance and Administration, Campus Operations, and other units to support institutional effectiveness and program growth
  • Develops partnerships with community and business organizations to expand workforce opportunities, career pathways, and student engagement
  • Identifies, develops, and implements academic action plans; monitors performance metrics; and supports data-informed decision-making
  • Advances collaboration among Academic Affairs, Workforce Development & Innovation, PimaOnline, Student Affairs, and other College divisions to support student success and institutional priorities
  • Represents the Provost at meetings, events, committees, and community engagements as appropriate
  • Facilitates cross-functional teams and committees, follows up on assigned initiatives, and promotes accountability for outcomes and deliverables
