Position Overview
The Vice President of Technology is a key member of the executive team responsible for leading enterprise IT and information security strategy. This individual will assess current technologies and operations, advise leadership on modernization and efficiency opportunities, and ensure alignment with organizational goals across infrastructure, security, compliance, and member-facing technologies.
This role oversees core systems, digital banking, data warehousing, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities, familiar with the financial services industry and driven to deliver impactful digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead enterprise-wide technology and cybersecurity strategy, focusing on improving member experience and operational efficiency
- Oversee core banking, digital platforms, loan/mortgage/credit systems, CRM/MCIF, and telecom infrastructure
- Manage and mentor IT and IS managers; guide cross-functional project teams
- Develop and maintain IT budgets, maximizing department efficiency
- Direct disaster recovery and business continuity programs, ensuring system resilience
- Evaluate and implement software, hardware, and vendor solutions to reduce total cost of ownership
- Ensure compliance with federal/state regulations and internal policies
- Partner with executive leadership to support business growth through scalable, secure technology
- Champion a culture of service delivery, compliance, innovation, and accountability
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience in enterprise IT leadership
- Bachelor’s degree with professional certifications required; Master’s preferred
- Strong preference for candidates from financial services or credit union environments
- Proven experience with:
- Core banking and digital banking platforms
- Data warehousing, CRM/MCIF systems
- Cybersecurity programs and frameworks (NIST, CIS)
- Telecom and enterprise infrastructure
- Vendor and budget management
- Regulatory and compliance oversight in a financial setting
