Job Overview:
The Vice President of Property & Investment Accounting is an enterprise accounting leader responsible for the integrity, execution, and strategic oversight of accounting and financial reporting across Sage Hospitality Group’s investment entities, hotels, restaurants, and shared services platform.
This role leads a multi-functional accounting organization spanning investment accounting, property-level shared services, and treasury/AP functions. The VP serves as a key business partner to executive leadership, ownership groups, lenders, and external advisors, delivering accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and actionable insights to support a dynamic, growth-oriented hospitality platform.
Responsibilities:
Hospitality & Shared Services Accounting
- Lead centralized accounting support for hotel and restaurant operations within a shared services environment.
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and scalability of property-level accounting processes and deliverables.
- Partner with operations leadership to align financial reporting with business performance and decision-making needs.
Enterprise Accounting & Financial Leadership
- Direct the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes and financial reporting across investment entities, hotels, and restaurants.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and GAAP-compliant financial statements, including consolidated and entity-level reporting.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to executive leadership to support operational and investment decision-making.
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal control frameworks.
Investment & Partnership Accounting
- Oversee accounting and reporting for real estate investment structures, including joint ventures, funds, and special purpose entities.
- Manage capital accounts, investor allocations, and waterfall calculations in accordance with operating agreements.
- Coordinate capital calls, distributions, and equity transactions.
- Support lender reporting, debt compliance, and financing activities.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders on investment modeling, forecasting, and transaction support.
Treasury, Banking & Cash Management
- Provide strategic oversight of treasury operations, including banking relationships, cash management, and credit card processing.
- Ensure strong controls over cash disbursements, fraud prevention, and banking administration.
- Act as primary liaison with financial institutions and internal stakeholders on treasury-related matters.
- Identify and implement efficiencies in treasury and AP processes, systems, and structures.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
- Coordinate with external tax advisors on tax planning, compliance, and reporting, including K-1s and partnership returns.
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors, ensuring audit readiness and timely completion.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and internal policies.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing accounting organization, including directors, managers, and shared services teams.
- Drive a culture of accountability, collaboration, and service excellence across the function.
- Oversee recruiting, performance management, and professional development initiatives.
Systems, Process Improvement & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead and support system implementations, process improvements, and organizational scaling efforts.
- Standardize and document processes to enhance consistency, efficiency, and control.
- Partner cross-functionally on strategic initiatives, capital projects, and business transformations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a key financial contact for ownership groups and external partners.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
- Lead or contribute to special projects, including new investments, entity structuring, and operational transitions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership oversight of 20+ accounting professionals across investment accounting, treasury/AP, and shared services functions.
Qualifications:
Education & Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
- MBA and/or CPA strongly preferred
Experience
- 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership within real estate, hospitality, or multi-entity environments
- Demonstrated experience managing complex organizational structures and investment accounting
Knowledge & Skills
- Deep expertise in USALI, GAAP, partnership accounting, and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of hospitality and asset-based business models
- Experience with treasury operations, banking structures, and cash management
- Ability to interpret and apply legal agreements (operating agreements, loan documents, management contracts)
- Proven leadership and team development capabilities
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with executives, investors, lenders, and auditors
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Salary:
USD $150,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.
