Vice President of Operations

The Vice President of Operations will report to the COO and will be based out of Dallas or Chicago. This full-time exempt position aims to achieve the business objectives and goals of the Warehousing and Custom Packaging Departments, support the overall success of the company, and provide customers with best in class service.

The position requires the ability to lead and motivate a department of 200+ employees, manage multiple projects, prioritize and execute objectives systematically, and have extensive knowledge of the Warehousing and Distribution industry.

Position expectations include:

  • Safety: Meet health and safety goals, develop plans, ensure safety metrics are communicated, evaluate and implement new processes to reduce safety events, and have experience or willingness to receive training in Food Safety.
  • Financial and Profitability: Create and maintain a plan to achieve department financial goals, maintain a 12-month rolling forecast, adhere to expense authorization, manage department expenses, and continuously evaluate ways to improve accuracy and efficiencies.
  • Quality and Tracking: Develop positive relationships with customers, ensure operational metrics are updated and communicated, provide weekly performance reports, respond to customer requests, complete CARs, ensure accurate paperwork and data entry, and track necessary information.
  • Management: Set clear goals and expectations for direct reports, mentor and coach directors, document performance issues, and create performance improvement plans when appropriate.
  • Project Management: Create project outlines with goals, steps, resources, risk analysis, and timelines, and communicate project status to the CEO.
