Vice President of Dental Operations

Star Dental Partners is currently seeking a Vice President of Operations (VP) to join the team supporting around half the organization's partner practices. The Vice President of Operations will focus on driving effective growth strategies, building culture, and cascading operational tactics with the goal of enhancing practice level performance. As a valued member of our team, the Vice President of Operations will receive a highly competitive compensation package inclusive of base salary, annual performance bonus and incentive equity. Responsibilities:Leadership and Culture
- Oversee operations of roughly 50% of the company’s locations including a team of 6-8 Regional Directors of Operations
- Instill a sense of accountability and service excellence with our teams at all levels
- Promote a culture of high-quality patient care and collaboration between field operations and SDP’s support center
- Champion the company’s culture and develop teams and leaders through coaching, mentorship, and programs that deliver on the strategic mission
Financial and Business Objectives
- Support the delivery of Star’s strategic priorities, specifically adding and retaining providers, growing patient visits, and managing expenses responsibly, through consistent, focused management process
- Drive industry-leading organic growth across his/her portfolio of locations
- Identify and track key metrics and performance indicators to achieve the company’s financial objectives
Strategic Planning and Execution
- Partner with Star’s Support Center departments (marketing, recruiting, HR, business development, finance, accounting) to create and implement strategic programs, and to implement best practices to support Star’s strategic priorities
- Develop and manage annual budgets for the portfolio and build and monitor ROI analyses to support business decisions and growth
- Support practices as they transition to common infrastructure (e.g. practice management software, patient communications, marketing/lead management platforms, IT vendors, clinical supplies ordering, clinical AI, etc.)
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum 10 years dental operations management experience preferred
- Strong executive presence
- Experience with P&L responsibility, budget management, personnel management, and team building
- Strong analysis and assessment skills interpreting complex and ambiguous data to execute strategic and operational initiatives, leveraging applications such as Excel and Powerpoint (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Highly organized and detail-oriented work ethic
- Strong active listening skills, ability to implement processes, and collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer to ensure company objectives are met
- Ability to work collaboratively with all team members, both at the practice level and Support Center
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and works well under pressure
- Experience leading through influence vs. authority to set and achieve objectives with our affiliated partners; comfortable leading in a decentralized environment
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the initiative to work independently
- Strong ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates integrity, responsibility, accountability, and a high level of professionalism
- Located in MD, VA, DC, SC, NC, GA, FL, AL, TN, LA, or TX with proximity to a major airport
- Ability to spend time in the field visiting and supporting regional leaders and affiliated locations (overnight travel approximately 60% of the time)
