This role ensures technology platforms, data, cybersecurity, and operational capabilities support the division’s strategic growth, operational excellence, and global standardization objectives.

The CIO partners closely with business presidents, engineering, operations, supply chain, finance, and corporate IT to modernize business processes, deploy global digital solutions, and strengthen resilience across procurement and distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technology Strategy & Transformation

  • Define and execute the divisional digital strategy aligned to enterprise architecture, standards, and roadmaps.

  • Lead multi‑year transformation programs across PLM, SAP ERP (S/4HANA preferred), and MES/Shop‑Floor Automation.

  • Champion global standardization, platform consolidation, and integration across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain systems.

  • Drive adoption of digital manufacturing technologies (IIoT, edge computing, predictive analytics, digital twins).

2. PLM & Engineering Digitalization

  • Own divisional PLM strategy, governance, data model, and integration to ERP and MES.

  • Partner with engineering leadership to modernize product development, change management, BOM governance, and model‑based definition.

  • Ensure PLM supports global design collaboration, compliance, and product lifecycle traceability.

3. SAP ERP & Enterprise Applications

  • Oversee SAP strategy and operations for the division, including S/4, ECC, and related modules across finance, supply chain, manufacturing, and procurement.

  • Drive harmonization of business processes through standard templates and enterprise data governance.

  • Lead major ERP transformation initiatives including global rollouts and upgrades.

4. Shop‑Floor and IT/OT Convergence

  • Drive modernization of manufacturing technology stack, including MES, SCADA, historian, and plant‑floor automation.

  • Establish IT/OT architecture standards, cybersecurity controls, and network segmentation for plants.

  • Partner with operations and engineering to deliver smart factory capabilities and operational resilience.

5. Global Procurement & Global Distribution Systems

  • Modernize procurement systems and processes, including supplier collaboration platforms, contract management, risk monitoring, and spend analytics.

  • Oversee digital capabilities supporting global distribution centers, transportation management, and logistics execution.

  • Align supply chain technology with enterprise visibility platforms (demand planning, S&OP, inventory optimization).

6. Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure rigorous cybersecurity and operational risk practices across IT and OT environments.

  • Partner with the CISO to implement global standards for identity, access, infrastructure, and incident response.

  • Oversee compliance with industry, regulatory, and export control requirements.

7. Operational Excellence & Service Delivery

  • Deliver reliable, secure, and cost‑effective IT services for global manufacturing operations.

  • Implement KPIs for system availability, plant uptime, service quality, and cost optimization.

  • Drive continuous improvement through automation, DevOps, and cloud modernization where appropriate.

8. Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead a global IT team across architecture, applications, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to divisional leaders on technology’s role in growth, margin improvement, and operational efficiency.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration with corporate IT, product teams, and functional stakeholders.

Qualifications

Required

  • 15+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including global roles in industrial or manufacturing environments.

  • Deep expertise in PLM, SAP ERP, and MES/Shop‑Floor Systems.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex transformation programs and global platform deployments.

  • Experience partnering with engineering, supply chain, procurement, and manufacturing operations.

Preferred

  • Experience in large multinational companies across multiple regions.

  • Background in managing digital architecture, data governance, and enterprise platforms.

  • MBA or advanced technical degree.

Success Measures

  • Improved global standardization and reduced platform complexity.

  • Successful delivery of ERP/PLM/MES transformations on time and within budget.
