Reporting to the President, the VPEM provides visionary leadership for enrollment management, marketing and communications, and brand strategy, aligning all efforts with the institutional mission and market demand.Reporting RelationshipReports to the President and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).Roles and RelationshipsEmbrace the spiritual heritage of the university and promote the educational heritage of the Church of the Nazarene.Envision and represent Northwest Nazarene University as an outstanding Christian university, enhancing its presence and reputation across Idaho and the Northwest U.S.Understand and articulate the university's mission, vision, values, and philosophies while communicating effectively with all constituencies.Administer the university's recruitment under the President's direction and in accordance with adopted policies.Guide and oversee the Traditional Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and Professional Studies Admissions teams, as well as the Enrollment Technologies office and all recruitment efforts.Essential FunctionsSupervise recruiting and hiring of all personnel within the Enrollment, Marketing & Communications sector (EMC).Provide oversight, training, leadership, and accountability for directors within the EMC sector.Provide enrollment leadership and oversight throughout the admissions, enrollment and marketing cycles.Supervise, motivate, and coach a team of professionals engaged in achieving enrollment targets, sales activities, and customer‑service measurements.Design and develop performance metrics driven by recruitment activities, creating a culture of assessment and accountability.Work collaboratively with NNU leadership to produce an annual enrollment forecast for all programs.Develop and implement enrollment strategies, aligning them with input from the SLT, the Board of Trustees, and the University Strategic Plan.Partner with the Director of Marketing & Communications to produce a comprehensive marketing plan for student recruitment and enrollment.Manage a comprehensive student communication plan supporting admissions, retention, persistence, multicultural engagement, and student services.Guide the ongoing implementation and enhancement of enrollment technologies.Regularly schedule and lead meetings with campus leaders to evaluate enrollment results and goals.Participate in campus commissions and work groups focused on strategic enrollment planning, student customer service, marketing & communication.Collaborate with campus leadership to develop procedures ensuring compliance with admissions processes.Ensure campus programs and entities are involved in preparing annual institutional and program‑specific marketing plans.Manage multiple budgets and direct expenditures.Interact with the University's Board of Trustees and other governing bodies.Interact with the regional Northwest Field Council.Perform other related duties as assigned.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesDirector of Admissions Operations, Director of Marketing & Communications, Director of SLATE software, Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admissions, Director of GPS Admissions, Associate Director of Admissions.Minimum QualificationsCommitted Christian with a history of exemplifying faith.Earned master's degree in a field related to the position (e.g., marketing or educational leadership).A passion for the role of Christian higher education in church and society.Current member of the Church of the Nazarene or willingness to join and actively participate.Alignment with the theological convictions of the Church of the Nazarene.At least five years experience in admissions, enrollment, marketing or a related field.At least five years of administrative experience, including hiring, training, and promotion of staff.Deep understanding of sales and customer service within higher education.Knowledge of social media norms, practices and platforms.Strong strategy, organization, analysis, and problem‑solving skills.Record of success in admissions initiatives and enrollment strategy development.Personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, with ability to maintain confidentiality.Willingness to remain current on higher‑education trends and movements.Appreciation for and model of servant leadership.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including engaging a wide variety of constituencies.Ability to understand, analyze, and interpret enrollment data.Experience with PC software, especially Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new software.Willingness and ability to travel periodically for work.Ability to view a computer screen for extended periods.Ability to sit for extended periods.Preferred QualificationsPossess a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.Ten or more years of experience in admissions, retention, enrollment, marketing or a related field.CompensationSalary will be determined by educational background and experience.
