Centered in Jesus Christ, the NNU education instills habits of heart, soul, mind and strength to enable each student to become God's creative and redemptive agent in the world.DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONThe Vice President of Enrollment and Marketing (VPEM) serves as a senior executive leader responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive, data-informed strategy to recruit and enroll an academically qualified student body. Reporting to the President, the VPEMC provides visionary leadership for enrollment management, marketing and communications, and brand strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional mission, goals, and market demand.The VPEM oversees the integration of admissions (Traditional Undergraduate, Graduate, and Professional), enrollment technologies and analytics, to drive sustainable growth, enhance institutional visibility, and strengthen the university's reputation. The VPEM is responsible for the development and monitoring of all the Universities enrollment strategies, admissions goals, enrollment tracking, and student customer service strategies.The VPEM will have a key role as the university's chief message officer, working with the University President, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the Director of Marketing and institutional offices and individuals responsible for the marketing of NNU. The VPEM will guide the various sectors of the institution directly responsible for message, as well as work with all appropriate campus entities regarding media-related matters.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPReports to the President and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT)ROLES AND RELATIONSHIPSThe Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing must:Embrace the spiritual heritage of the university and promote the advancement of the educational heritage of the Church of the Nazarene.Envision and represent Northwest Nazarene University as an outstanding Christian university and promote building its institutional presence and reputation on the NNU campus, in the Boise Valley, and throughout Idaho and the Northwest U.S.A.Understand and articulate the university's mission, vision, values, and philosophies while communicating effectively with all constituencies, including prospective students, parents, alumni, foundations, businesses and media, as well as faculty, staff, and students.Administer the university's recruitment under the President's direction and in accordance with adopted policies.Guide and have oversight of the Traditional Undergraduate Admissions, Graduate Admissions, and Professional Studies Admissions teams, as well as the Enrollment Technologies office, and all recruitment efforts of the University.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe Vice President for Enrollment & Marketing:Supervises recruiting and hiring of all personnel within the Enrollment, Marketing & Communications sector (EMC).Provides oversight, training, leadership, and accountability for individual directors within the EMC sector.Provides enrollment leadership and oversight throughout the admissions, enrollment and marketing cycles.Supervises, motivates, and coaches a team of professionals engaged in achieving enrollment targets, sales activities, and customer service measurements and outcomes.Designs and develops performance metrics driven by recruitment activities, creating a culture of assessment and accountability.Works collaboratively with NNU leadership to create an annual enrollment forecast for traditional, graduate, and professional studies offered by NNU.Develops and implements enrollment strategies, aligning the strategies with input from the SLT, the Board of Trustees, and the University Strategic Plan.Works closely with the Director of Marketing & Communications to produce a comprehensive and effective marketing plan for student recruitment and enrollment.Manages a comprehensive student communication plan that supports not only admissions, but retention and persistence, multi-cultural engagement and student services.Provides guidance for the continued implementation and development of all enrollment technologies.Regularly schedules and leads meetings with campus leaders to evaluate enrollment results and goals.Participates in campus commissions/ work groups focused on strategic enrollment planning, student customer service, marketing & communication and culture.Collaborates with campus leadership to develop procedures to ensure compliance with admissions procedures.Assure that all appropriate campus programs and entities are involved in preparing annual institutional and program-specific marketing plans, providing expertise in planning and timely creation of professionally produced product to establish and strengthen the NNU brandManages multiple budgets and directs appropriate expenditures.Interacts with the University's Board of Trustees, serving as a resource person to one or more Standing Committees, and participates in the semi-annual meetings and periodic retreats.Interact with the regional NYI Northwest Field Council.Performs other related duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervision includes: Director of Admissions Operations, Director of Marketing & Communications, Director of SLATE software, Director of Traditional Undergraduate Admissions, Director of GPS Admissions, Assoc. Director of AdmissionsRequirementsMinimum QualificationsThe professional and personal qualifications and attributes include:Committed Christian, with a history of beingEarned master's degree in a field of study relevant to the position (e.g., marketing and educational leadership)A passion for the role of Christian higher education in the church and societyA current member of the Church of the Nazarene or, if not already, a willingness to join, embrace and actively participate in the Church of the NazareneIn full alignment with the Theological convictions of the Church of the Nazarene.At least five years of experience in admissions, enrollment, marketing or a related fieldAt least five years of administrative experience, including experience in hiring, training, and promotion of staffA deep understanding of sales and customer service, with the proven ability to provide leadership within the context of higher educationAn understanding of social media norms, practices and platformsStrong strategy, organization, analysis, and problem-solving skillsA record of success in admissions initiatives and enrollment strategy developmentPersonal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, and the ability to maintain a high degree of confidentialityA willingness to be a student of higher education with an understanding of current trends and movementsAn appreciation for, and a model of, servant leadershipExceptional written and verbal communication skills – including, ability to engage a wide variety of constituents, present to large groups, conduct team training, meet with potential students and their parents, coach a teamAbility to understand, analyze and interpret enrollment dataExperience with PC software, especially Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn new softwareA willingness and ability to travel periodically for workThe ability to view a computer screen for extended periods of timeThe ability to sit for extended periods of timePreferred QualificationsPossess a doctoral degree in a relevant disciplineTen or more years of experience in admissions, retention, enrollment, marketing or a related fieldCOMPENSATIONSalary will be determined by the educational background and experience.
